Water, returning home: JFK

We are privileged to live in a country with the largest fresh water resources in the world.  As well, we are flanked by the powerful duo Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and capped by the Arctic.  Like so many,  I have always been drawn to water.  I grew up on Lake Ontario, camped every summer on Moira Lake, and now live on the Maitland River which empties into Lake Huron.  Just as those from the Rocky Mountains could not imagine living anywhere else, I cannot fathom not being near water.

Some mornings the creek running behind the barns helps to create a serene mist.
Maybe being born under the astrological sign Aquarius, symbolically the water bearer; also delivers me to a destiny predetermined by water.

I believe though that we are all born with the desire to be near water.  Patrick fishing behind our farm.

JFK said this:
I really don’t know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it is because in addition to the fact that the sea changes and the light changes, and ships change, it is because we all came from the sea.  We have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears.  We are tied to the ocean.  And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch it, we are going back from whence we came.”
